Eco Tourism Policy

At the Martz Farm Treehouses and Cabanas, we believe in the responsible development and use of our country's natural resources; we believe that you, as our guests, have chosen to stay with us because you also feel this way. Located in the Vaca Forest Reserve, we are especially concerned about protecting the fragile ecosystem of one of the Belize's most important watersheds.

Here are some things you can do to help:

  • Bring rechargeable flashlights / alternatively you may carry your non-reusable batteries back with you to a place where they may be safely disposed of
  • While traveling in Belize you should drink plenty of fresh water – bring a waterbottle that can stand the traveling and can be refilled.
  • If you will be bringing soaps or shampoos, choose biodegradable ones whenever possible.

By choosing our facility, you are also helping us maintain and continue our conservation projects of the Bayleaf palm and the increasingly rare Xate palm, initiatives of the Belize Botanical Gardens of which we are proud partners..
